It’s homecoming week – all week!

It is homecoming week at Montezuma Schools, with the days filled with activities and athletic events.

The overall theme is “superhero.”

Monday is history as of this writing, so we’ll go right on with Tuesday:

Tuesday, Sept. 10 – tug o’ war, hula hoop hop, and Lip Sync in the auditorium at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 11 – kickball tourney.

The seniors won in the PJs category: Kohen Holland, Peyton Minner, Spencer Ross, Kylee Larmore, Shiressa Wetering, Emily Jo James and Jusiah Wetering. (Earlene Taylor photo).

Thursday, Sept. 12 – plunger drag, scavenger hunt. Braves Night (pep rally, speeches, crowning of royalty), 6:30 p.m. in north gym.

Friday, Sept. 13 – Pep rally, 2:20 p.m., north gym. Parade, 3 p.m.

Parade route – Staging is at the school. South on 4th St. to downtown, then west on Main Street for a block, then north on 3rd St. for another block.

Westen Young was a musical chair winner.

Dress-up days began on Monday.

Tuesday: DC or Marvel? Pick your favorite superhero from the Marvel or DC comic universe.

Wednesday – Superhero or villain? Duo day – grab a friend. One is the hero, the other is the villain.

Thursday – Personal superheroes. Dress like the person who inspires you.

Friday – Braves assemble. Wear your Monte gear to support our Braves.

The week actually began on Sunday, with the painting of the streets near the school.
