Today, Saturday, Dec. 18, is a full day of basketball in Montezuma as the Bravettes and Braves take on Williamsburg.
The Fresh/Soph girls and boys games start at 1 pm.
The JV teams will play at 2:30.
The Varsity girls are at 4 and the Varsity boys at 6.
The Montezuma Community wants to help support the TaterTough Foundation and its fight against DIPG.
At halftime of the girls’ Fresh/Soph and JV games, fans are encouraged to pay a dollar to shoot a half-court shot or 3-pointer. A prize will be awarded to anyone who makes their shot.
These games will be our cancer awareness games this year. The teams will be wearing TaterTough shooting shirts and the girls will also wear hair ribbons in memory of Tate Schaefer, a 13-year old Williamsburg boy who courageously fought DIPG for over 2 years.
Tate loved all sports and any type of competition.
We will also be selling TaterTough bracelets and accepting free will donations. All proceeds will be given to the TaterTough Foundation.
We look forward to a great weekend of Montezuma Basketball and hope to see many of you in the gym!
Additionally, the Blue and White Booster Club is donating the profits from today’s concession stand to the TaterTough Foundation.
So come out to the games, support the student-athletes from both schools, shoot a 3-pointer, and frequently visit the concession stand!!
Tonight is also “Blue and White Night” where we will recognize our B&W members at halftime of the girls’ and boys’ varsity games. We look forward to seeing many of you at the games
