he Montezuma Bravettes 7th grade girls basketball team hosted the Iowa Valley Tigers on December 8.
The Bravettes were guided by Shelby Teumer because Doug Helm was out sick. Shelby guided the girls to an easy, 45-9 win.
Monte jumped all over the Tigers early taking a 17-0 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and a 31-2 lead at halftime.
The Bravettes continued to push their advantage in the 2nd half to win 45-9.
Montezuma shot 21-68 (31%) from the field including 1-7 (14%) from 3-point range and 2-5 (40%) from the line. Iowa Valley was 4-14 (29%) from the field and 1-4 (25%) from the line.
The Bravettes were tough on the boards with a 34-24 advantage. Monte had zero turnovers. Iowa Valley had 34 turnovers.
Lauryn Larmore led the way. She had 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 steals.
Sophia Semprini had her best game. She had 10 points, 9 rebounds and 7 steals.
Alexa Rose had another nice game with 9 points including a 3-pointer, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Ryanne Williams had 2 points and 4 steals. Kelsie Mostek had 2 points. Olivia Latcham had 5 rebounds.
The Montezuma Bravettes 7th grade moves to 3-1 on the season.
