The Montezuma Bravettes A-team had their first home game of the season on Tuesday, November 26 when it hosted the Keota Eagles.
The first quarter was back and forth until late when the Bravettes extended their lead to 11-6. Brielle Haughey swished a 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer to give Monte a 25-14 lead. Monte pushed the lead to 39-20 at the end of the third quarter and won 47-28.
Monte shot 20-59 (34%) from the field, 2-10 from 3-point distance and 5-6 from the free throw line. Keota was 12-32 (38%) from the field, 0-1 from long distance, and 4-14 from the free throw line. The Eagles dominated the boards 40-26. But, the Bravettes forced 33 turnovers while only committing 9.
Brielle Haughey had a great game with 24 points including two 3-point baskets. She also had 7 rebounds & 6 steals.
Brylee Latcham also had a strong game. She had 10 points, 5 assists and 8 steals. Lilly Bushong gave the team a big boost. She had 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. Baylea Smith had 2 points. Kady Schmidt was a stat stuffer with 1 point, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocks.
The Montezuma Bravettes A-team moves to 2-0 on the season. They host Colfax at 4:30 on Monday, December 2.
