The Montezuma Bravette 7th graders hosted the Iowa Valley Tigers on January 20. The Bravettes were drastically more skilled and experienced.
Monte led 39-1 at the half and won 54-13.
The Bravettes shot 26-67 for 39% on field goals including 1-4 on 3-pointers and 1-3 on free throws. The Tigers were 4-13 for 31% on field goals and 5-16 on free throws.
The Bravettes had 36 rebounds vs 21 for the Tigers. Monte had 7 turnovers while forcing 30.
Sydnee Burgess had 13 points including a 3-point basket. Vivian Cook had 12 points, 5 assists and 6 steals.
Letisia Wilson had her best game with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals.
Tegan Barnhart had 7 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Rylee Wolford had 6 points, 3 assists and 6 steals.
Lauren Daniels had 4 points. Daisy McNaul had 2 points. Leah Urfer had 6 rebounds, 4 steals and a block.
The Bravette 7th grade moves to 5-1 on the season. They play at Iowa Valley on January 24 in their final game.
