JH girls control the ball in 56-10 win

The Montezuma Bravettes A-team hosted the Iowa Valley Tigers on December 8.

The Bravettes were guided by Shelby Teumer because Doug Helm was out sick. Shelby guided the girls to an easy victory, 56-10.

Monte jumped all over the Tigers early taking a 21-1 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and a 36-3 lead at halftime.

The Bravettes continued to push their advantages in the 2nd half.

Montezuma shot 23-59 (39%) from the field including 4-13 (31%) from 3-point range and 6-10 J(60%) from the line. Iowa Valley was 4-20 (20%) from the field and 2-4 (50%) from the line.

The Bravettes were tough on the boards with a 31-21 advantage. Monte had an incredibly low 3 turnovers while forcing 29.

Vivian Cook led the way with 19 points including three from long distance. She also had 3 steals.

Leah Urfer had a big game with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Sydnee Burgess was a stat stuffer with 10 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals and 4 blocks.

Rylee Wolford had 5 points including a triple and 3 steals. Letisia Wilson had 4 points, 3 assists and 3 steals. Lauryn Larmore had 2 points.

The Bravettes A-team moved to 4-1 on the season.
