JH girls looking to grow in play

By Coach Megan Carlson

NEW SHARON – As the team enters the last two weeks of the season, it is important for the girls to be ready to go and continue to grow in all of their skill areas.

I have seen so much growth the girls, now it is time to execute.

The 7th-grade team started slow but competed hard in three very close games on Monday, Sept. 21. They still need to focus on coming out strong in the first game and setting the pace for play.

The 8th graders also had a very slow start in the 1st game but fought back in the second. This group has so much potential and they are so much fun to coach. In the coming week, they need to focus on staying sharp and prepared for everything.

Scores do not show everything both teams can do. They are serving well, putting the ball in play, and working to set up. We even had a few solid blocks in the 8th-grade game. These are the basics that will help the girls in the future. This should be an amazing week of growth for them.
