Montezuma’s junior high volleyball teams both were beaten by North Mahaska at home on Thursday, Sept. 16.
“The Bravettes found themselves down several players and struggled against a very strong-serving North Mahaska squad,” Coach Megan Carlson said.
“The girls played had, but were unable to get anything going,” the coach said.
The eighth graders lost 2-1, on scores o 10-25, 9-25, and 25-20.
“The girls stayed together as a team and that is going to help them in the future,” Carlson said. “We need to be prepared to settle down in situations when things get tight and trust that we are capable of swinging the game in our direction.”
The seventh graders lost 2-1, on scores of 25-18, 12-25, and 22-25.
“I love playing tough teams and I know tht this experience is going to help motivate the girls to keep working hard and focus more on moving forward,” Carlson said.
