Get out the brooms! It’s a season-ending sweep!
Montezuma’s junior high volleyball teams ended their seasons Tuesday night, Oct. 4, with a home sweep of Tri-County.
“The last game of the season can bring up so many emotions,” said Montezuma Coach Megan Carlson. “The girls have worked so hard this season and have improved in so many different areas. I have enjoyed working with the girls and watching their progress.”
8th grade – 25-8, 25-9, 25-10.
“The eighth graders had an amazing junior high career and were able to do many great things,” Carlson said. “The only team that seemed to trip them up this year happened to be on the same side of the net.”
“The girls will continue to grow as competitors and understand that they have the power to do amazing things on the volleyball court, on other playing fields, classroom, and in life.”
“I am excited about all of the great things the girls can do this year, but I will miss coaching them,” Carlson said.
7th grade – 25-10, 25-14, 25-8.
“The seventh grade crew has grown so much,” Carlson said. “I remember worrying that we wouldn’t be able to get serves over, but they were able to serve, pass and even hit some great balls.”
“I hope they continue to push themselves and improve in the off-season,” the coach said. “This group has so much potential and I am blessed to have had the opportunity to work with them.”
“Ovearall, another great season that has gone by very quickly,” said the coach. “I am thankful for amazing parents and fans that support the girls – that is a vital part of the program. Montezuma has a lot to be proud of after another junior high volleyball season.”
