Playing at home is always a welcome experience after a few road games, and the 8th graders came out strong. They were able to take care of some issues of poor serving and lack of communication to help them speed ahead early in the first set against a tough EV team.
The girls had to battle in a few situations, but they did not quit and continued to support each other. I am proud of this team’s ability to respond to challenges, and I hope they will continue to support each other and leave it all on the court for the final two games. The 7th-grade team had to face a small EV squad that played several girls in the 8th-grade and 7th-grade matches. They struggled against a few strong servers and were unable to get a flow going in the first set. However, they battled back and put it together in the second set with great team play. Overall, it was not the best night for the 7th graders, who seemed to be missing a spark, but I know once they get that back, they will be ready to finish the season strong! |
