Playing with an altered lineup for the second night in a row, the Montezuma boys junior varsity team seemed to settle into their roles better on Friday, Dec. 11.
The Braves lost to BGM at home, 40-38, in overtime.
Kohen Holland led a balanced Montezuma scoring attack with 11 points, which included going three-for-four from behind the three-point arc.
Houston VanRoekel scored 8 points, David Rose had 7, Jack Erselius dropped in 6, Max Anderson had 4 and Carter Michalek scored 2.
The Braves out-rebounded the Bears 23-10, with Rose leading with 7. Montezuma had 18 steals, again Rose leading, this time with six.
But the difference in the game: Shooting percentage. The Bears shot a sizzling .593 from the field, to Montezuma’s .314.
