JV boys fall 48-33 at L-S

SULLY – The JV Braves fared well in the two middle quarters, but wound up falling 48-33 to Lynnville-Sully on Monday, Jan. 24.

Lynnville-Sully jumped out to a 15-4 first quarter lead.

The Braves outscored the host team 23-21 during the two middle quarters, to trail 36-27 heading into the fourth.

But the Hawks outscored the Braves in the fourth to take the 15-point victory.

Houston Van Roekel led Montezuma scorers with 11 points.

Kohen Holland scored 7 and David Rose and Carter Michalek each had 5.

Lynnville-Sully shot .528 from the field to the Braves’ .481. But more telling was the Hawks’ 20-11 advantage in rebounds, and the Braves’ making 18 turnovers to just 5 by Lynnville-Sully.
