JV boys’ rally falls short, 42-41

EDDYVILLE – A big second half rally fell just short for the Montezuma boys JV basketball team on Friday night, Feb. 3.

The Braves fell, 42-41, to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.

Montezuma trailed 27-8 at halftime but outscored the Rockets 33-15 in the second half.

David Rose led the Braves with 21 points, including 3-for-6 from behind the three-point arc.

Briar Simpson scored 8 points and had 7 rebounds, and Alex Black grabbed 6 rebounds for the Braves.
