COLFAX – The Braves started fast and didn’t look back in a 49-15 junior varsity boys basketball win over Colfax-Mingo on Tuesday evening, Jan. 24.
Montezuma led 19-0 after one quarter and 33-7 by halftime.
Kohen Holland scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Braves. He hit two-of-four shots from behind the three-point arc.
David Rose had eight points, seven steals and six rebounds in one productive game.
Alex Black scored six points.
Briar Simpson scored five points and grabbed five rebounds.
Luke Brennan had four rebounds.
The Braves shot .338 from the field, to just .139 by Colfax-Mingo.
Montezuma made nine turnovers, compared with 23 by its opponent.
