JV Braves defend Iowa Valley, 37-5

MARENGO – Montezuma’s junior varsity boys basketball team picked up its first win, defeating Iowa Valley 37-5 in two quarters of play on Monday, Nov. 28.

The Braves led 15-0 after the first quarter.

Montezuma shot 50 percent from the field and held the home team to under 20 percent.

David Rose led the Braves with 15 points. Lars Taylor scored 7 and Luke Brennan had 5.

Briar Simpson pulled down 9 rebounds for Montezuma, which led 21-3 in that category.
