JV girls away to a 2-0 start

The Montezuma Bravettes JV girls basketball team opened its season on Saturday morning, Nov. 23, taking on Iowa Valley and Twin Cedars in a round-robin style setup between the three teams.

In the first game, Montezuma set the tone early and cruised to a 57-11 win overIowa Valley.

The Bravettes were led in scoring by Kierstyn Price with 14 points, with Madison Johannes scoring 11, and Ashlyn Krousie and Aislyn Hutchcraft both adding 8 points to the cause. In the second game, scoring came early and the defense held the lead in the second half, with Montezuma defeating Twin Cedars 41-22 to move to 2-0 on the young season.

Korrinn Kehoe and Ashlyn Krousie both scored 10 points to lead the Montezuma squad.

UP NEXT – The JV Bravettes play prior to the varsity game on Tuesday night at Pella Chrisitan for the girls doubleheader with a 6:00 start.
