The Montezuma Bravettes JV girls basketball team finished out an unbeaten season with a win over Williamsburg on Thursday night, Feb. 6.
In a closely-contested game which saw several new defensive looks for us from the Raiders, the Bravettes got control on the offensive boards, then some sparks from 3-point range carried the team to a 41-27 victory.
The Bravettes led 15-7 after one quarter, 26-15 at halftime and 36-23 through three periods.
Guard Madison Johannes led scoring with 15 points with post player Kallie Robison contributing 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Madison got her 15 on six-for-eight shooting, including sinking three-of-four from three-point range.
Kierstyn Price scored five points and Alyssa Cline had four assists.
The Bravettes shot .372 from the field and made five three-point baskets. Williamsburg shot .273 from the field.
Montezuma had a 31-19 lead in rebounds, and cleared 11 of them from the offensive glass.
The Bravettes finished the year 15-0, but the true success was found in the individual growth from player to player over the season.
