Keota Eagles fly over Braves, 13-1

Keota made contact with the baseball, and Montezuma had some issues with fielding same.

The result was a 13-1 win in five innings for the Eagles in varsity action on a torrid Tuesday, June 14 in Montezuma.

Keota rapped out nine hits, and the Braves reached double figures in errors.

Colton Benson had one of two Montezuma hits, and Jack Erselius was credited with an RBI on the Braves’ lone run.

Braves batters drew four walks in addition to their two hits.

Of the 13 runs scored by Keota, only one was earned by Braves pitchers Garrett Watts and Carsten James.

Watts threw two innings. James pitched three. The two walked just three batters, and James struck out one.

Keota went to 11-3 with the win.

The Braves stand at 0-9.
