The Montezuma Bravettes A-team traveled to Keota to play the Eagles on Tuesday, November 25. Both teams played aggressive man to man defense.
Keota jumped out to a 9-0 lead to end the first quarter. The Bravettes would outscore the Eagles in each of the final three quarters, but they could never take the lead. The Eagles won 16-15.
Montezuma went 6-51 on two-point shots, 0-2 from beyond the arc, and 3-10 from the line. Keota countered with 6-34 on two-pointers, 0-1 on three-pointers, and 4-20 on free throws.
The Bravettes were edged by the Eagles on the boards 43-39. The Bravettes committed 20 turnovers, and the Eagles had 30 turnovers.
Lexi Urfer had 7 points and a block. Aubree DeJoode had 4 points, 5 rebounds and a block. Lucy Semprini 2 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals and a block.
Alyssa Latcham was a stat stuffer with 2 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals before fouling out of the game.
After the Thanksgiving break, the Bravettes host North Mahaska on Monday, December 1.
