L-S downs Braves 12-0 in five innings

Lynnville-Sully scored a methodical, 12-0 win over Montezuma in baseball action Friday evening, June 3, on the Braves’ field.

The Hawks led 6-0 after two innings and extended the lead after that.

Lynnville-Sully outhit the Braves 7-2. The Hawks had 10 stolen bases, and benefited from eight Montezuma errors.

Of 12 runs scored by the Hawks, just three were earned by Braves pitcher Owen Cook.

Cook threw all five innings, and struck out eight batters.

Cook also had one of Montezuma’s two hits.

Lucas Sleck pitched four innings for the Hawks and struck out five batters. Lannon Montgomery pitched one inning, and fanned two.

The win lifted Lynnville-Sully to 7-1 on the season, while the Braves fell to 0-6.
