Lynnville-Sully scored a 35-15 win over Montezuma in a junior high B-team game on Monday, Dec. 13.
The Hawks led 23-5 after one half.
“We got off to a slow start, getting down 15-2 at the end of the first quarter,” said Montezuma Coach Dennis Phelps.
“After that, we battled, despite having some struggles scoring. We continued to play even basketball, especially in the second half. It was a 12-10 second half,” the coach said.
Linkin Bru scored 8 points for Montezuma. Easton Hudnut had 4, Blake Smith put in 2 and Isaac Wedgewood made one free throw.
“I was very pleased with our effort and competitive spirit in the second half,” the coach said.
Montezuma doesn’t play again until after the break.
