L-S sets roadblock at first base in 5-0 win

Lynnville-Sully rode the pitching and hitting of Alexy Conover to a 5-0 win over the softball Bravettes on Tuesday, May 30, in Montezuma.

Conover pitched all seven innings and didn’t allow a Montezuma runner beyond first base.

The Bravettes got singles from Laila Kercheval, Chloe Snook and Kallie Robison and six Montezuma players drew walks. Conover struck out seven.

At the plate, Conover was three-for-four, wth a home run and a run batted in. Greenlee Smock had two hits, including a double, and an RBI.

Robison pitched six innings for Montezuma. She struck out four and walked one. Leah Urfer pitched an inning for the Bravettes and struck out one.

The defeat brought Montezuma to 2-2 on the season. Lynnville-Sully stands at 2-5.
