At least one traditional Montezuma July 4th event has not been moved into September.
The Lake Ponderosa Association Fireworks will go on as usual, this time on Saturday, July 4th, at dusk.
Rain date is Sunday, July 5.
Any decision to cancel because of weather must be made by 12 noon on Saturday. After that, the event will go on as scheduled.
The causeway will have one lane closed starting Saturday at 10 a.m. Both lanes will be closed at noon.
In the event of delay because of weather, both lanes will remain closed until after the show on Sunday, July 5.
During the show, all boats must stay at least 600 feet from the causeway. If a boat gets closer than that, the fireworks company is required to pause the show until the safety area is cleared.
