The Montezuma Lions Club’s 68th annual chicken barbecue dinner will be Saturday, July 5, in conjunction with Montezuma’s “Let Freedom Ring” July 4 weekend celebration.
It will be held at Montezuma Memorial Hall.
Tickets for the meal will be $12.
Serving will begin about the time the morning parade ends, or about 11 a.m., concluding on or before 1 p.m. Advance tickets will soon be available from club members.
Lions pick new officers
Officers for the Montezuma Lions Club’s new year that begins July 1 were voted in at the club’s May 12 meeting.
Eddie Pierson was elected president, succeeding Boyd Sparks who was elected vice-president.
Other positions will repeat, as follows: Roger Allen, secretary; Mike Princer, treasurer; Bill Schultz, tail twister; and Ted Morelock, song leader.
To be determined is a slate of directors.
