Earlier this year $300 was donated to After Prom and two high school graduates each received $300 scholarships.

Lions-related causes receiving funds at this time include $1,600 for the Iowa Lions Foundation, $1,000 to the Lions Clubs International Foundation, $200 to Leader Dogs for the Blind; also $200 to Camp Hertko Hollow, a camp for children with diabetes; and $100 to Camp Courageous, for a Lions-sponsored week of camp for the handicapped.

At the Lions club’s May 12 meeting the scholarship selections committee reported that Elizabeth De Jong and Bryson Stockman will each receive $300 upon successful completion of their first semester of college. Club President Boyd Sparks presented certificates to them at the school’s senior awards night.
