SERVICE WITH A SMILE. Cooks at the grills got a warm, busy workout at the Lions club’s successful pancake breakfast fundraiser Saturday morning, Oct. 30. About 350 persons were served, including hunters and great support by community members. Dean Teeselink, in center, interacts with a customer, while Ron Hensel , at left, focuses on breaking an egg, and Jerome Sheets, in background, delivers pancakes for two carry-out orders. The Lions liked the less obstructed service window that is part of the nearly completed remodeling of the Memorial Hall kitchen. Ron Hensel was the winner of a drawing for a $100 gift certificate at Montezuma Super Valu.
TAKING THEIR TURN cooking sausage “just right” at pre-dawn on Saturday for the Lions club’s pancake breakfast are William Gregory, in foreground, and Roger Iverson. This was the 58th annual hunters’ pancake breakfast held by the Lions club on the opening day of pheasant hunting season.
IN ADDITION TO having a good breakfast and supporting a service organization, those attending the Lions club’s pancake breakfast (below) also provided a good time to socialize. The Lions served about 350 customers at their 58th annual breakfast on Saturday morning, Oct. 30. Sales of frozen whole-hog sausage were also a hit. Lions Mike Princer and Linda Boeding headed up this year’s breakfast.
