WINFIELD – For the second time in two weeks, Lone Tree will be across from Montezuma – this time in the second round of the playoffs – on Friday evening, Oct. 23.
Lone Tree, down 36-28 at halftime, outscored Winfield-Mt. Union 38-0 in the second half to take a 66-36 victory in first round action on Friday evening, Oct. 16.
The 7-0 Braves had a first round bye.
Montezuma beat Lone Tree 66-24 in week seven of the season on Friday, Oct. 9. The Braves had scored a 73-32 win over Winfield-Mt. Union back in week two.
Winfield-Mt. Union and Lone Tree had not previously met this season.
Friday’s game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Badger-Gabriel Field.
