Monday, June 29, will be D-day at the Bob Fulton residence, with the D standing for departure. After 10 months in Montezuma the popular AFS student, Stella Tenorio, will be headed back home to Columbia.
Mrs. Wilbur Baltisberger of Malcom is the grand prize winner of the “Milk Made Magic” contest with her recipe for orange-pineapple ice cream dessert.
The photographic talents of Jack W. Drafahl, MHS ’63, have earned him high honors at his graduation from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA.
The auxiliary police announce the final inspection of bicycles will be held on July 1at the Memorial Hall from 7 pm to 8 pm.
Catcher Doug McKinney and second baseman Steve Schuldt are the leading hitters for Coach Darrell Brand’s Braves. McKinney is batting a glossy .526 while Schuldt has 9 hits in 18 at bats for a .500 average.
Miss Nancy Erickson is the newly-elected secretary for the Montezuma Education Association. She will also serve as the membership chairperson.
Vera Meyer was honored at a bridal shower held at the home of Mrs. Harley Bryan.
Harold Sanders graduates with distinction from Maricopa County Junior Technical College at Phoenix, AZ. He majored in drafting technology and graduated with an A-minus average. His sister, Mrs. Jane Gibson and son, Robby, attended the ceremonies.
The DR-M school board has proposed a budget of $370,499 for the 1970-71 school year. Montezuma Schools have proposed a budget of $693,060 for the next school year.
State law now prohibits open dumps but the state has not enforced the law yet according to City Attorney Roger Sunleaf.
A little red Ford Falcon has been seen around town this summer, meaning that Dennis “Digger” Phelps has finished his freshman year at UNI.
