Montezuma experiences its worst ice storm in 30 years. The local telephone company reports 125 broken poles and nearly 100 phones not working.
The annual winter band concert will be held in the junior high auditorium on December 16, starting at 8:00 pm. Admission is 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for students. Student activity tickets will be honored.
The Deep River Boosters and the American Legion will sponsor a free kids movie, “Futher Perils of Laurel & Hardy” at the Deep River Memorial Hall. Santa is expected to arrive by fire truck after the movie.
