Harry Potter passes away. Services were held at the Harden Funeral Home.

Montezuma Lions Club members spruce up the stop signs and street signs posts with a fresh coat of paint.

Braves Track Coach Dennis Brand recognizes the season’s top point winners, Ken Krumm and Bill Van Cleave, with 65 points each. Marvin Walker was next with 64 points and Eugene Baethke has 61.

Former Lynnville star athlete Steve Becker is the recipient of the Len T. Simek Memorial Scholarship at Upper Iowa College.

Friday night Commencement exercises were moved inside to the gym due to inclement weather. They were to be held on the athletic field east of the school.

MHS graduates Barbara Bowers, Robert James Johnston, Sara Lofgreen, and Elizabeth McKee, are among 1,101 graduates who earned degrees at the University of  Northern Iowa on May 28.Leslie A. Everrett of New Sharon earns a degree in Farm Operation ((Honors Program – With Distinction) from Iowa State University.

MHS ’70 graduate, Guy Drafahl, is feted at the home of his parents with 37 guests attending.
