NEW LONDON – The Montezuma wrestlers beat the other three teams competing in the New London Duals on Thursday, Dec. 12.
The Braves knocked off Lone Tree, New London and Wapello to emerge first out of the four competing squads.
The action turned out to be Montezuma’s only meet of the week.
A re-start of the Montezuma Invitational was to have taken place on Saturday, Dec. 14. But, the day’s ice storm and general bad weather forced the event to be canceled.
Hopefully, they’ll be able to do it next season. Fans should note that the Braves have a new date for their event – the second week in December. That might help in bringing some new teams to next year’s meet.
