SIGOURNEY – The Montezuma varsity wrestlers opened their season by winning two of three dual matches on Friday, Dec. 5.

That’s right – the Braves won a couple of dual meets. They haven’t won many the last few years. They’ve been down in numbers. But new Head Coach Mike Plants has more athletes to work with this season, and it will make a difference in the dual meet record.

The Braves beat Baxter 30-24 and Pekin, 48-24. Sigourney-Keota topped Montezuma, but it was close, 40-34.

The Braves moved on to Pekin on Saturday, Dec. 6, for an invitational tournament.
