PLEASANTVILLE – At first glance, it looks like Montezuma’s wrestlers didn’t fare real well in the Trojan Duals on Saturday, Jan. 14.
They went 0-5 in dual meets.
But, they were competing against larger schools with close-to-full rosters, and some of them are known for quality wrestling.
The Braves went with a six-member team (a full roster is 14), and five of the six did most of the wrestling on this day.
Montezuma wrestlers won 10 of the 19 matches they actually competed in. They won four more via forfeit.
Yes, they’re competitive.
That competitive fire will be on display when the Braves host a meet on Thursday, Jan. 19. It starts at 6 p.m.
