MHS grads head out into the world

Montezuma High School sent 35 students out into the world after graduation ceremonies on Saturday afternoon, May 13, in the north gym.

The first order of business for the grads: Eat their way across the district at the many graduation parties held during the weekend!

A slideshow about the senior class played for early arrivals at the gym on Saturday.

The high school band performed the processional “Pomp & Cirumstance.”

Guests were welcomed by graduating senior Maguire De Jong.

Student addresses during the ceremony were delivered by Madison Johannes, Mia Boulton, Abigail Pope and Owen Cook.

Principal Kelly O’Rourke did student military recognition, and student honors recognition.

Seasons of Love,” arranged by Roger Emerson, was sung by the high school choir.

Superintendent Rich Schulte presented the graduates. O’Rourke and Stacie Cameron, representing the school board, awarded the diplomas.

O’Rourke gave closing remarks, and then the graduates did the recessional to “Pomp and Circumstance.”

Junior attendants for the ceremony were members of the National Honor Society.

The 35 graduates included two parallel graduates and an early graduating junior.
