MONTEZUMA HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS TRIVIA … a weekly feature by Al Rabenold.
LAST WEEK’S QUESTION & WINNER: We heard from the president of the B & W Booster Club, the vet’s assistant, the Spanish teacher, a NM graduate, and a city councilman’s better half, all with the correct answer. The rarest double feat took place on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, when 7th grader Broox Stockman placed 10th in the SICL Junior High Cross-Country meet at Lynnville and then hurried back to Badger-Gabriel Field where he returned a kick-off for a touchdown as the little Braves defeated HLV, 86-26!
THIS WEEK’S SPORTS TRIVIA QUESTION: Congratulations to Coach Gartman and Coach Van Gorp’s XC girls, the first Bravette team since 1982 to run in the state meet. Can you name any of Montezuma’s top 5 runners that placed 4th in the state girls’ XC meet at Ames 38 years ago? Contact me with your answer via social media with the winner earning a shout out next week!
