BROOKLYN – Montezuma qualified three athletes in four events for the boys and girls state track meets during the qualifying meets on Thursday, May 11.
Advancing are Ellen Cook in the 3,000-meter run, Garrett Watts in the high hurdles, and Chloe Snook in the long jump and 200-meter high hurdles.
The state meets will be Thursday, May 18, through Saturday, May 20, at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
A state-imposed news embargo on qualifying meet results didn’t make said stats available until after noon on Friday, which crashed into the schedules of small-town reporters who are also trying to cover graduations.
Look for results (we have them) starting Saturday.
