SEARSBORO – Montezuma’s high school varsity cross country teams did great jobs of packing (staying together) during the Montezuma Invitational meet, run Thursday, Oct. 10, at Big Springs Shooting Complex.
“Our athletes made me proud tonight,” said Montezuma Coach Kevin Gartman. “We’ve got a lot going on, the course is not easy, and yet many of them found ways to run near their best season or career times tonight. We had a few “no walking” victories as well, so lots to be proud of.”
“I always enjoy this meet for the support system we get to come out to it,” Gartman said.
“Thanks to all the families who could make it, as well as to friends and athletes from other sports, teachers, and community members,” the coach said.
“We’ll be right back here on Tuesday, Oct. 15, for the SICL meet.”
