Montezuma FFA earns more national attention

INDIANAPOLIS – It was another national championship week of triumph for the Montezuma FFA chapter at the 95th National FFA Convention Oct. 24-29.

Montezuma took three judging teams to compete. They returned with one national championship, a fourth place and a sixth place finish.

The Farm Business Management Team was crowned national champions, with Colton Benson as the individual national champ.

The Market Plan team placed fourth.

The Ag Communications team was sixth.

Here is breakdown of which FFA members were on each team:

Farm Business Management – national champions: Colton Benson was national individual champion. Madison Johannes placed fourth; Mia Boulton was eighth, and Maguire De Jong was 12th.

Market Plan Team – placed fourth, the highest any Montezuma Market Plan team has ever paced at nationals. The team included Owen Cook, Abby Pope, Kallie Robison and alternate Bryson Stockman.

Ag Communications team – placed sixth. Members are Camryn Brennan, Alivia Cline, Makenna Johannes and Madison Van Zee.
