AMES – Montezuma FFA crowned three state champion judging teams at the 94th Iowa FFA Leadership Convention April 10-12.
The event drew more than 6,000 members to Ames.
Montezuma won state titles in Market Plan, Farm Business Management, and Ag Communications. What’s more, Mia Boulton was the individual state champion in Farm Business Management, with teammates Maguire De Jong, Cooton Benson and Madison Johannes placing second, third and fourth, respectively!
The state champions will compete at the 95th National Convention Oct. 26-29 in Indianapolis.
In addition, the Conduct of Meetings and Ag Sales teams each placed third, and the Experience the Action team received a gold rating. In Ag Communications, Madison Van Zee was the winner of the web design practicum, and Alivia Cline won for video practicum.
In Ag Sales, Matthew Ranfeld was the second place individual and had the top individual sale. Jaemi Hartman was the third place individuel and had the top test score.
Rick Swenson is the FFA advisor, and Hannah Garland is an ag instructor.

Ag Sales – third place – Matthew Ranfeld, Korrinn Kehoe, Sawyer Tindle and Jaemi Hartman.
Experience the Action – gold award – Ashlee Eilander, Laila Kercheval, Jordan Ranfeld, Sam Bos and Madison Cheney.
