Montezuma High School has another FFA state championship – this one in floriculture.
Montezuma’s four-member team was honored at the contest on Tuesday, June 8.
Individually, Makenna Johannes placed first and Camryn Brennan was fourth.
The other two team members were Alivia Cline and Madison Van Zee.
Alivia was the champion individual in the area of problem solving.
“We are extremely proud of this group and all of the hard work they put in over the past two months to get ready for this event,” said Chapter Adviser Rick Swenson.
“Congratulations and good luck at the national competition in October,” he said.
Montezuma was judged top team in in team activity, the general knowledge exam, problem solving and floral production.
Swenson had a special thank you to Montezuma Floral, “for all their help and assistance getting this team ready to go and prepared for several of the different floral design aspects of this career development event,” he said. “We truly appreciate all your help!”
