Several Montezuma graduates have begun their college basketball careers this fall.
TREY SHEARER – a freshman guard at Truman State, had appeared in all 9 of his NCAA Division II team’s games through Dec. 11.
Trey was averaging 3.6 points and 14 minutes a game on a team that had won 7 and lost 2.
Shearer was 6-for-15 on three-pointers, and 8-for-9 on free throws.
His high game was 12 points against Missouri Southern.
His high rebound total was two, achieved 3 times. His high in assists has been 3, done twice. And, two times he has come up with one steal.
Truman State is a school of 5,200 students, located in Kirksville, Mo.
COLE WATTS – is a freshman at Simpson College. He had appeared in just one game, but managed to score a three-point basket.
Cole also has appeared in some freshman games, but the school does not publish statistics about those.
DYLAN HOLLAND – is a freshman post player at Simpson. She has appeared in 8 varsity games. She averages 1.0 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 5.6 minutes per contest.
ELISE BOULTON – is a freshman guard at Simpson. She has played in just one varsity game. However, both she and Holland have appeared in some freshmen games.
RILEY GATTON – played on Central College’s team last year. Academically, she is pursuing a double major, so has decided to devote full time to being a student.
SHATEAH WETERING – Is a sophomore at the University of Iowa. She tore her ACL in practice before the season began and is rehabbing in hopes of playing next year.
