Three Montezuma High School football players have achieved more noteworthy honors by being named to the Cedar Rapids Gazette’s All-Area Team.
The team was announced Sunday, Dec. 13.
One of them, quarterback Eddie Burgess, was named the Gazette area’s player of the year.
The other two Braves named to the 40-member team were Trey Shearer as a wide receiver and Cole Watts as a utility player.
The team included players from all classes of Iowa high school football in the Gazette’s extensive distribution area.
