Something ROYAL cometh! Don’t miss it.

‘It’ is – “A Musical of Royal Proportions” presented by the students of Montezuma Community Schools.

It is humorous, entertaining and fun.

And don’t forget the music – by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein.

Tickets are available for the four production times: Saturdays, Nov. 9 and 16 at 7 p.m, and Sundays, Nov. 10 and 17, at 3 p.m.

Advance tickets may be purchased for $5 each at Montezuma State Bank. At the door, tickets will cost $8. Montezuma State Bank is donating $3 for each ticket sold at the bank to the speech and drama program.

Many, many hours of work – like learning lines and songs, building stage settings, searching for and sewing costumes, obtaining copyright permission, finding stage props, providing publicity and practicing – have gone into preparing this musical.

Many giving community members have also donated time, skills and props to help make this a wonderful event.

The musical will be presented in the newly-renovated auditorium, which used to be the south gym at the school. For those sitting on the auditorium floor, the latest addition is 220 padded chairs, donated by the Montezuma Lions Club (separate story).

The production is under the direction of Kaela Schuiteman, Liesl Roorda and Shelly Shoemaker.

Brian Nolton is the choreographer and set designer.

More than 50 hard-working cast and crew members are planning to provide their audiences with a “royally” good musical.
