MONTEZUMA – The Bravettes won an important match in their conference season when they topped HLV/T-C, 3-1, on Thursday, Oct. 2, at home.
It was the 13th straight victory for the league-leading Bravettes.
The Warriors, 10-11, were the only other team in the SICL to have reached double figures in total victories. (Montezuma has 19).
There is just two weeks left in the league season and the Bravettes are in good position now to finish as conference champion.
It got a little tense early, though, when HLV/T-C won the first set, 29-27. The Bravettes got straightened out in sweeping the next three sets for the match victory.
Chloe Snook had 25 assists and Syd Burgess scored 21 kills for Montezuma.
Burgess and Snook each blocked five attacks and the Bravettes had a whopping 14 blocks in the four-set match.
Lauryn Larmore led in digs with 19 and three others had 10 or more.
Annaleece Kercheval was good on 27 of 28 serve attempts, including two aces,
