Montezuma’s 8th grade boys basketball A-team picked up its second win of the season on Tuesday, Jan. 17th.
The Braves beat Belle Plaine 61-34, and new Coach Brady Miller called it a “nice win.”
“The guys played great defense and forced a lot of turnovers,” Miller said.
“We were led in scoring by Dane Strong with 22 points. Rett Pargeon scored 18 and Easton Hudnut had 13,” the coach said.
“That brought our record to 2-3. The losses were hard-fought, twice to Lynnville-Sully and once to Baxter,” Miller said.
“We have English Valleys on Thursday,” the coach said.
Montezuma Activities Director Tim Burgess said he feels fortunate to have obtained Miller’s services. “He’s doing a good job,” Burgess said.
Last year, Miller was a student teacher under Kevin Gartman.
Currently, Miller is a teacher at BGM.
