Montezuma is planning a “Let Freedom Ring” celebration for 2020 after all – but at a later date.
That date: Saturday, Sept. 5.
That’s providing the community and state have the governor’s blessing to have parades and larger community events by that date.
Members of the Montezuma City Council, the Montezuma Community Boosters, the Lions Club, and Montezuma Activities Group recently got together – with social distancing rules in effect, of course – to make this decision.
Normally, of course, “Let Freedom Ring” is held around the July 4 weekend. Organizers promised to do their best to continue this tradition and safely celebrate this sacred American holiday.
The day could look a little different, they admitted. More details will come forth as time rolls on.
