It’s the biggest game of the season for the Bravettes. And Montezuma’s girls are happy they’ll take on Springville at home.

The Class 1A regional semifinal starts at 7 tonight, Friday, Feb. 17.

Springville is 19-4; the Bravettes are 20-3.

Like Montezuma, Springville’s losses have been to good teams. The Orioles fell to Central Elkader, Cascade, and twice to North Linn.

Springville outscores teams by an average of 60-41; Montezuma beats its opponents 59-34.

The Orioles are quick on defense. Their 359 total seasons is twice the number of thefts the Bravettes have.

Three Orioles are key:

Rowan Jacobi, a 6-1 freshman, scores 13.0 points and averages 8.3 rebounds.

Molly Stamp, 5-7 and a senior, scores 12.1 points, gets 5.0 rebounds, and averages 3.8 assists.

Isabel Guerrero, a 5-5 senior, averages 9.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists.
