A Montezuma football coaching “institution” – Partner Maschmann – has been given a high honor.
Maschmann has been named Class 8 “Assistant Coach of the Year” by the Iowa Football Coaches Association.
This year, the association named two. The other is Jeff Wershmann of Grand View Christian.
“This is a well-deserved honor for a man that has helped to shape the young men in our community,” said Braves head Coach Pat O’Brien.
“Coach Maschmann has been an assistant for multiple head coaches and has constantly been loyal to the Montezuma Community School District,” O’Brien said.
“He has helped to make countless young men into better men. I am happy,” O’Brien said, “that I get to take the sidelines every Friday night with a man like him!”
