Playoff game will be cancer game

Cheerleader Taylor Wickham is all smiles at HLV. Friday will be the girls' cancer game.

MHS Cheerleaders would like to thank the many fans who purchased a cancer shirt this football season. It was by far the largest number of shirts we have ever sold! Unfortunately, the cancellation of our final game has required a change of plans for the use of our shirts.

The playoff game scheduled for Friday, Oct. 22 and held in Montezuma will be our cancer game.

We encourage all fans to wear their new shirts, or any pink attire, to the game. The football team will have appropriate stickers attached to their helmets and the cheerleaders will be sporting pink in many ways.

A run through the crowd to collect change is not allowed during a playoff game, but pink buckets will be set out for any donations the fans would like to make.

A ceremony by the cheerleaders and the band will be held during halftime. The opposing team and fans will be invited to wear pink and make any donations they wish.

Our funds raised this year will be divided between  #Tater Tough and a local woman who has been dealing with breast cancer during the past year. Our squad always tries to support local needs with the cancer game donations.

Thank you again for your support of our cancer fundraiser. Please come out to the game, wear pink, clap for the best band in the land, cheer on your team and help the cheerleaders count jumping jacks after each touchdown!
