LEGRAND – The East Marshall Boys Invitational is a track and field meet that gives a lot of guys a chance to run in a meet and get an official time and distance.
This year, for instance, more than 40 throwers in both the discus and shot put events came away with an official distance in a meet.
Another thing . . .it can be cold and windy up on that hill. It makes for a long meet.
Braves head coach John Beck said his team was short-handed because of the State FFA event. Still, Montezuma’s coaches did a great job of filling a lot of spots with Brave contestants.
And David Rose stood out. He won the 100-meter dash in 11.46 second – taking first by almost a second. Rose placed third in the 200 dash.
Also, Rose anchored a fourth-place run in the 4×100. The first three runners were Dane Strong, Luke Brennan and Evan Haughey.
